How to dupe a look
- Pick womenswear or menswear.
- Describe the outfit in a sentence: each piece, its color, and its shape. Up to 180 characters.
- Get the look — Tailr rebuilds it head to toe from real products that are in stock now, with links to shop each piece.
Describe it like a stylist
The more specific the description, the closer the dupe. Name for each piece:
- The item — blazer, trench, loafers, midi skirt.
- The color — beige, navy, cream, washed black.
- The shape or fit — oversized, double-breasted, wide-leg, cropped.
- The fabric, if it defines the look — linen, suede, chunky knit, satin.
“Oversized beige blazer, white tee, wide-leg trousers, white sneakers” will get you much closer than “that outfit from the airport photo.”
A dupe, not a copy
Tailr recreates the look — the silhouette, the palette, the mood — with similar pieces you can buy today. It doesn't identify the exact items or brands in a photo. For most looks that's the point: the effect for a fraction of the price.

Questions
- Can I upload a photo of the outfit?
- Not yet. The dupe tool works from a written description of up to 180 characters. Describe each piece's item, color, and shape for the closest match.
- Will it find the exact items?
- No. It builds the same look from similar pieces that are in stock now, rather than tracking down the original brands.
- Does Tailr earn money from the product links?
- Some product links are affiliate links, so Tailr may earn a commission if you buy. It doesn't change the price you pay.
- Is the dupe tool free?
- Yes. You can recreate a few looks a day without an account. A free account adds more each day, plus outfits built from clothes you already own.
