Generating outfits

Studio basics — occasion, vibe, closet-only mode, weather.

The Studio is where outfits are designed. It takes whatever signal you give it (occasion, vibe, weather, anchor piece) and returns a complete head-to-toe look in 5–10 seconds.

The fastest path

  1. Open /outfit-studio (or tap Open Studio on the dashboard).
  2. Pick an occasion from the chips, or type a custom one (“coffee meeting at noon”).
  3. Optionally add a vibe (“sharp but not stuffy”).
  4. Click Generate. Done.

What every option does

  • Occasion — the most important input. “Wedding guest”, “office”, “date night”, etc. Drives formality + register.
  • Vibe — free-form modifier. “Effortless”, “polished”, “bold” all change the outfit shape.
  • Weather — auto-detected from your location. Tailr layers, swaps fabrics, and adjusts outerwear by temperature + condition.
  • Closet-only mode (Plus & Premium) — every piece must come from items you own. Great for travel.
  • Anchor item — pin an item you already want to wear; Tailr builds the rest around it.
  • Budget — caps the price of recommended (non-closet) pieces.

If you don't love the result

  • Regenerate — same brief, fresh attempt. Usually meaningfully different.
  • More casual / dressier — quick-action buttons shift the register without retyping.
  • Swap a piece — tap any piece's ⋯ menu for an alternative.
  • Heart it — saved looks help Tailr learn your taste.
  • 👎 dismiss — also a signal; biases future composes away.

Tip

The higher-tier AI model (more nuanced composition for complex occasions) is Premium-only, as are unlimited generations. Plus raises the cap to 30/day on the standard model; the free tier limits to 5/day. Daily limits reset at midnight UTC.
