Closet-only mode (Plus & Premium)

Lock every outfit to items you already own — perfect for travel weeks.

Closet-only mode is included in Plus and Premium — it forces every piece in a generated outfit to come from items you own. No brand recommendations, no shopping suggestions — just what's already in your closet.

When to use it

  • Travel weeks — you're working from what's in your suitcase.
  • Spending freezes — get value from what you own instead of being upsold.
  • Capsule challenges — “30 outfits, no purchases”.
  • Trip planning — see what your existing wardrobe can do for the destination before deciding what to buy.

How to turn it on

  1. Open /outfit-studio.
  2. In the options panel, toggle Closet-only mode ON.
  3. Generate as usual. Every piece will come from your closet.

What you'll see differently

  • Every piece has a small “From your closet” tag instead of a brand link.
  • Fewer outfits per session — if your closet genuinely lacks a category for the occasion (e.g. no formal shoes for a wedding), Tailr will return an incomplete outfit + flag the gap instead of inventing pieces.
  • The AI reasons explicitly about your wardrobe — “your stone knit polo + the navy chino we styled last week”.

Tip

Toggle it off mid-week if you want a recommendation again. The feature is per-generation, not a setting that locks you in.
